ABOUT THE CHAPTER

Welcome to the Chicago Alumni Chapter! The ASU Alumni Chicago Chapter is dedicated to connecting alumni in the Chicagoland area through our network of alumni who share an affinity based on where they live, what school or college they graduated from, or on a variety of special interests. The ASU Chicago Chapter was started in 1980 by a small group of alumni living in the Chicagoland area. They gathered wherever they could to watch ASU sporting events and slowly continued to use word of mouth to create and connect a larger group of alumni. The Chicago Chapter has come a long way since our humble beginning. Since then, the chapter has grown to be one of the largest chapters outside of Arizona with over 7,100 alumni across Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

The Chicago Alumni Chapter has been awarded several times by the ASU Alumni Association throughout the years. The Chicago Chapter is a storied winner of Sparky’s Membership Mania, which is based on total number of new memberships each year. The Chicago Chapter was awarded several times the best Chapter (Top Devil Award) in the country. In 2015, ASUAA created a new award called the Sparks Award. The Sparks Award is presented to chapters of Sun Devils Providing Awareness, Resources, Knowledge, and Service.
